Carol Scott

Vocals/Saxophone

Carol is a co-founder of A Little on the Side, along with partner Mel Bruner.

Carol received classical piano training from age 5 thru college, but prefers to play woodwinds.  Her primary influences came from Tom Scott, Grover Washington Jr., Michael Brecker, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago and Average White Band.  Favorite venues have included the Redlands Bowl, Queen Mary, Laughlin's Riverside Resort, and the Puente Hills and Lakewood Hops.  Memorable gigs include opening for Tommy Tutone in 1981, and more recently for El Chicano, Malo and Tierra.

Mel Bruner

 

Vocals/Keys

Mel is co-founder and manager of A Little on the Side.

Mel adds the sounds of Earth Wind & Fire and Marvin Gaye with his outstanding lead vocals.  Originally from Oklahoma, Mel has lived in Southern California since 1974.  He has been a singer since the age of 17, learning to play piano at 20 and studying at the Dick Groves School of Music.  His favorite venue was performing at the Horseshoe Casino in Memphis, Tennessee.  Mel is especially proud of performing with Al Wilson on a regular basis.  Mel credits Joe Sample, the Temptations and Earth Wind & Fire with providing his early musical inspiration.

Jerry Randolph

Vocals/Guitar

 

 

A Little On The Side is minus a regular guitarists at this time.  We are blessed to have several excellent guitar-playing friends, and bring them in to help out as needed.  You are likely to see us playing with Jimmy Keighan for rock and blues, and either Tony Morales or Ralph Navarro for R&B, dance and jazz.

Jerry has been helping us out lately and has won the hearts of all who has heard him perform. He's a great fit for the band and has a great personnality.

Larry Wilburn

Vocals/Drums

 

 

Larry has been helping A Little On The Side out for a while now.  He lives in Highland and runs a painting contract company to support his music habit.

He is a co-founder of an exciting Blues Band, "Mo Better Blues" that has performed for many years. And has also recorded with many other bands and headliners.

Craig Williams

Bass

 

 

Craig holds up the bottom end and continually looks for ways to make it all better.

Craig has worked with Larry for a number of years in the very successful Blues band called 'Mo Better Blues'. They have performed in and  around the IE, LA  and the Orange County areas.

He adds lots of energy and brings additional class to ALOTS!

               Edwin Falcon                    Percussions

Edwin adds color with his assortment of rhythm accessories.

Edwin is also a local prodigy that has been performing for years in the local and surrounding areas. He is currently studying and working with Kenny G's current percussionist.

He brings the happy beats!!!
